Candy Floss

Candy Floss - The Dressed Aesthetic

You know how some clothing items are simply practical? You buy them for specific purposes – like gardening clothes or what you wear to the gym. Trainers for running or a business suit for work. Utilitarian and an important part of any wardrobe. And then there are other kinds of clothes. The ones of whimsy and sass. Of color and exuberance. And those dresses are pure fairy tale…

The dresses I tend to file under the latter category definitely dominate my wardrobe. I don’t really do utilitarian (although I had to wear trousers and a t-shirt earlier this week for a stingray workup, and I thought the ladies at my local coffee shop would have a heart attack. Turns out, they’ve come to expect a certain level of whimsy). I just can’t help it though –  I’m inevitably drawn to breezy cottons, dreamy border prints, and rows of pastels. It’s a bit like being a kid at a carnival, wondering which color of candy floss to binge on first. And very rarely does a dress come along that manages to be all colors and all levels of saccharine cuteness at once. This beauty from Sweet Bee Finds, with her layers upon layers of gingham pastel, was as light as she was dripping with sweetness.

In addition to curating a collection of beautiful dresses, there’s another tradition revered by women the world over: The Spa. I’m actually jetting off for the weekend to enjoy a much needed getaway with my sister. We’ll laugh too much, eat to much, and come home with jelly legs from all of the pampering. I’ve been looking forward to it for months.

So, while I’m getting scrubbed and buffed and melting into a pool of happy, I hope you take advantage of the LAST DAY for the Unique Vintage coupon code! Use code DRESSED20 for 20% off any full priced item on their site. And should you need to whet your shopping appetite further, I have also started the challenging process of my Annual Closet Cleanout. I don’t have a set date yet, but be sure to keep an eye on my Instagram for sneak peaks of items to come, which will soon be for sale over at ShopDressedappsCloset. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

Right – off to be pampered. Ciao!
