{Favorites} A Year in the Life 2017

Happy New Year friends! As another year passes, it’s only natural to look back on the year before at everything that’s come to pass – the good, the bad, the crazy. Where I just have to look at a certain dress and be transported back to exactly how I felt at that moment in time.

The Fairytale…

The Fairytale - The Dressed Aesthetic

I was never really that little girl who always dreamed about her wedding. I didn’t envisage myself as princess Diana, I never had a fantasy of a white knight. I’d never planned my wedding down to each detail, just waiting for the character of Groom to be slotted in. I know we’re all still reeling from the events of the new year, not the least of which is the chaos surrounding our new “leadership” (and I use those words very, very loosely). This has been a trying month for us all. The only hope I feel is in the upwelling of unity and support – not just around the country but around the globe.

For some reason, I can’t get the “Goodbye” song out of my head. You know, the “Na na na-na…na na na-na…hey hey hey…goodbye!” Don’t you hate when you hear a whip of a song somewhere and find yourself singing it FOREVER? The only cure for it is usually to hunt down the song and play it in it’s entirety. Then, whatever it is in your soul that was craving that particular song is satisfied and will move on to other things.
