{Favorites} : May-hem - The Dressed Aesthetic

Mayhem is the perfect way to describe this month. I was lead into a false sense of security at the start, thinking this month would be more relaxed (relatively speaking), but it ended up like all the others – full of deadlines and moving goalposts. On the plus side, I crossed a few important projects off my list.

It turns out, I kind of thrive despite the chaos. Don’t get me wrong, I live and die by my lists and never willingly create an insanely busy day, but there’s an aspect of my personality that simply bears down and gets the job done in crisis. It’s that common conundrum – if I have 3 things to get done today, I’ll get 3 things done. But if I have 12 things to get done, somehow I manage to accomplish 12 things. And on those 12-things days, it helps to be wearing a dress that’s a 12. Cause why bother with a dress that’s only a 3?

In the spirit of looks that score a 12, here’s a roundup of my outfit favorites from May. For full outfit details, feel free to check out the original blog post!

Did anyone take advantage of some of the amazing Memorial Day Weekend sales tempting us at every cyber-turn? Unique Vintage is offering 20% off with code MEM20 (good through end of day May 30th) and Modcloth had an extra 20% off sale items with code SOHOT. Some of my favorite vintage shops, including Capsule Vintage, Hollie Point, and Ruby Fayes Vintage, are also offering huge discounts on their swoon worthy vintage. I may or may not have felt compelled to scoop up a deal or two to help me ease into June…

The first few days of June for me are going to be full-on lab days (i.e., no easing in whatsoever). The kind of on-your-feet-all-day-so-you’d-better-be-wearing-cute-shoes-to-make-it-worth-it kind of days. I’m also gearing up for another month of travel, which is going to be a good combination of work and play. I’m blocking the actual travel part from my mind (which involves about 40+ hours of airplane and airport time each way) and focusing on the more appealing aspects.

Speaking of appealing, I have a few really exciting collaborations coming up in the next month or two, including some exciting dress reviews, vintage shop features, and giveaways, so stay tuned…

Happy End of May!

xoxo
