From Paris, With Love

No, I’m not actually writing from Paris, sadly. But, this dress exudes Parisian chic so well, from its Pater Pan collar and jaunty bow, to the rows of amazing covered buttons that go down the back. Although I always say that I tend to veer towards color, particularly during the warm summer months we’re having in Australia, I’m finding more and more neutrals making their way into my closet. I’ve realized that a beautiful neutral is the perfect backdrop for pop color accessories, of which my wardrobe has aplenty (shocker, I know).

I‘ve only been to Paris once as a teenager and it’s a mission of mine to go back one day. To be older and more appreciative of the sights and sounds and culture (and quite frankly, the vintage). To stroll along the Champs-Élysées or go back to find that ridiculously amazing crepe stand in Montmartre. To dig deep to see if any of my college french resurfaces – apparently it does after a few glasses of bubbles. To soak it all in and remember there is a great big world out there full of art and color and vibrancy.

One of my absolute favorite colors is teal – I was dressed in blue endlessly as a child and rather than rebel against it (as you might expect), I embrace her like an old friend. The subtle golden hue of  this beautiful dress meant that I could accessorize with teal to my heart’s content! It was fate when this dress met my favorite shoes of all time – they couldn’t keep their eyes off of each other. Teal and gold and embroidered… a match made in heaven.

So, although I’m off to work today instead of off to the Sorbonne or to the Eiffel Tower, at least I can channel a bit of Parisian flair and skip off to work with a certain je ne sais quoi about me…
