Murphy’s Law always states that when you can least afford to shop, all you’ll find are things you wish you could buy. And when you have a bit of extra cash and want to splurge on yourself, you can’t find a single thing that strikes your fancy. I generally fall into the former category. All. The. Time.
I‘m trying very hard to focus on the opposite of shopping and start clearing out the ol’ wardrobe. But, try as I might to focus on releasing things back into the wild, the beast of vintage possibilities keeps knocking on my door and I’m using every ounce of willpower not to answer. Any chance I can tell them to come back later?
With fingers itching to hit “buy”, here’s a roundup of beauties I’ve been lusting after:
For My Castle
I’ve never got along very well with plants. But these wall terrariums are so pretty, I just might be changing my mind!
I’ve always wanted to grow a collection of vintage perfume bottles. This cranberry & gold one is so dreamy…
Is this embroidered custom family portrait the cutest or what? I love that we could have Willie and Finn in ours too…
For My Closet
The dreamy romance of this dip-dyed tulle skirt has me swooning.
Ack! Border print? Pockets? YES PLEASE to this dress.
There’s just something about a laser cutout dress – manages to be sweet and sexy at the same time.
I love the pink hues in this plaid dress (and I have her sister in purple & blue!)
I’m so in love with this vintage swimsuit – I’d probably wear it as a romper!
This dress looks like it belongs in a fairy tale… and it’s on SUPER SALE.
I love everything about this handmade kite skirt.
It doesn’t get much better than a drop waist and polka dotted dress. Mr. Dressed’s birthday is coming up and I clearly have NOTHING to wear…
Sweeter than pie – this embroidered vintage dress is screaming for a summer picnic…
For Some Arm Candy
In a word: obsessed. This bag…
Hand me this bag, my passport, and point me to the plane!
Oh adorable wooden novelty bag. Where have you been all my life?
For South of my Ankles
I am now officially obsessed with B.A.I.T. shoes. These shall be my next victim…
Stripes and polka dot heels? Sign me up.
Why oh why aren’t these insanely amazing gogo boots not my size? Some small footed lass, please take them away!
Clearly I cannot resist a stacked glitter heel. These are too cute.
If one must be so fancy as to carry around business cards, shouldn’t the holder for them be freakin’ adorable??
I believe life is too short for ugly underwear. I choose to live life in pairs like these!
Although it will take super human strength, I will resist adding anything into my cart for the time being. As I hinted at above, this is primarily because my focus at the moment is on my biannual wardrobe purge! That’s right, it’s everyone’s favorite time of year: Closet Cleanout Time!
I’ll be going through everything and taking photos in the next couple of weeks – there will be vintage (mostly 50’s & 60’s) and vintage inspired items for sale (in a range of sizes). I’ll be listing everything on my @shopdressedappscloset Instagram page, so be sure to be following along for updates. You can also check out items still for sale from my last clearout here.
Right, time to get back to the daunting task of figuring out what to let go of. In the meantime, I’ll enjoy window shopping…
