Raindrops on Roses - The Dressed Aesthetic

I have probably seen the Sound of Music about 12 billion times. The music, the family dynamic shift, the historical context, Julie Andrews twirling on a mountain top – I just love it all. I remember coveting Liesl’s dress in “I am 16, Going on 17” and having serious wardrobe envy over the drapery-meets-dresses, make it work moment (clearly). But, the song I find myself still humming today always starts with, “Raindrops on roses…”

{Beauty Bar} : My Makeup Must-Haves - The Dressed Aesthetic

I get a fair few questions about my makeup routine. Truthfully, I can’t say that I have a ‘routine’ per se – primarily because I see makeup as a fun adventure every morning and I usually go with whatever suits my mood on a given day. I can hardly believe we’re saying a fond farewell to May today! As per usual, the month hit hyperdrive about mid way through and I’m left sputtering on the side of the road, wondering how the month blew past me so quickly without my permission. For me, the onset of June generally means: Conference Season. I have a lot of travel coming up, and since one of my favorite (nerdy) things to do is make Powerpoint presentations, I’m pretty excited for both. With one conference at the start of July and a second in August, there shall be much far flung…

A week of leisure means I have a chance to catch up on a lot of things that get pushed to the bottom of the pile when life gets crazy. This week I’ve been catching up on blogging, on some sewing projects for myself and for my niece (who generally always gets a mini-version of anything I make for myself. Yeah, I’ll pay for that one when she’s 16…), and enjoying a lot of great (bad) tv.
