For some reason, I can’t get the “Goodbye” song out of my head. You know, the “Na na na-na…na na na-na…hey hey hey…goodbye!” Don’t you hate when you hear a whip of a song somewhere and find yourself singing it FOREVER? The only cure for it is usually to hunt down the song and play it in it’s entirety. Then, whatever it is in your soul that was craving that particular song is satisfied and will move on to other things.
I’m hanging my head as I type this. Looking back through the archives, the last time I was organized enough to do an outfit recap post was back in August. The last two months have literally flown by in a flurry of packing tape and wardrobe purges. Despite that, I did sneak in some lovely looks that I’m rather fond of. Hey, what can I say. I work best under pressure…
Another August has been and gone. I don’t know about you, but I sincerely feel like time is picking up speed as the years progresses. I blinked and this past month disappeared. And I don’t have a whole lot of recollection of exactly where it went.
Given the mayhem that was June and July this year, I barely had time to stop for a coffee, let alone collate my favorite June looks! So, I’ve decided to reflect on the last two months (which seriously felt like only one) and combine my outfit overviews for June and July.
Mayhem is the perfect way to describe this month. I was lead into a false sense of security at the start, thinking this month would be more relaxed (relatively speaking), but it ended up like all the others – full of deadlines and moving goalposts. On the plus side, I crossed a few important projects off my list.
They weren’t kidding about the whole “April Showers” thing. It’s been raining seemingly nonstop for weeks, and I personally can’t wait for the May flowers portion of the tour. I know we need rain and all that, but it casts a grey dreariness around town and is simply NOT a friend to a good suede shoe…
As you read this, I am currently in transit. Very likely I’m somewhere over the Pacific, watching a horrible movie I secretly love but would never admit to watching, rugged up in my window seat, trying to get some much needed shut eye. Yes, dear readers, I’m on yet another overseas trip.
Another month has come and gone, and this one was a serious whip-lash inducing frenzy of work, work and more work! I have to say, for being a shortened month, I felt as though I crammed in more than usual. It was certainly productive – from the successful course (which was done and dusted as of Friday), progress on a few new projects, and I somehow managed to not twitch myself into an oblivion despite the over abundance of caffeine.
Wow, 2016 arrived and January was gone in a flash! I think it had something to do with the fact the the first half of my January involved a whole lot of blissful relaxation. The University tends to close down for much of the month, and that kept my inbox at bay and my mind on vintage pursuits.
As another year draws to a close, I can’t help but sit, The Thinker-style, and ponder on what shape I want 2016 to take. To prepare myself for the inevitable questions of what my New Years Resolutions will be. Now, my cynical self tends to be squarely in the camp of “you can make resolutions any time you choose” where, for all intents and purposes, NYE is just an arbitrary date. But, my silver-lining self thinks the world can do with a few reminders now and then. And I have to admit, this time of year definitely lends itself to reflection and resolve…
