The Lust List #1

We all have ways to unwind. One of the biggest for me is lazily perusing all of the beautiful things I’d like to just appear in my closet. The things I would love to jump onto my walls. I am certainly not secretive about my love for things from bygone days, so it won’t surprise you that my most favorite place to get lost is always on Etsy. To flip through the clickable racks and imagine what life would look like perched upon the perfect midcentury sofa. To drool over gauzy chiffon and wonder if my evenings would take on a sepia tone if I wore that peignoir and danced the evening away to Frank Sinatra…

So, for some reason, when browsing for things this past week I found myself constantly drawn to all things literary-inspired. Maybe it’s my body telling me that I need a rainy day curled up in an armchair with a good book. Here’s a few things that I’m currently lusting after – any catch your eye??

For the Home

I’m a bit obsessed with these bookshelves…I have a total fascination for things that appear at first glance gravitationally impossible…

A handmade book to hold all of your dreams… I bought this as a Christmas gift for a friend and am very tempted to get one for myself. The multiple textures and types of paper, complete with hidden envelopes to keep your secrets safe…How can you not feel inspired when holding this book?

Or perhaps writing in a shell is more your speed… I have so much appreciation for repurposing items someone may think are discardable but have a chance to be made into something beautiful again. These shell notebooks look amazing.

I’d love to put this over my reading chair.

For the Closet

This dress is everything…. Xtabay always has items that get my heart beating a little quicker and I have to fight the urge not to buy everything and rationalize it later.

The EMBROIDERY…if she weren’t too large for me, I’d of snapped up this dress in a NY minute.

Truthfully, when shopping for vintage or vintage-inspired items I’m not really shopping for things, I’m shopping for a story. I’m shopping for a lifestyle. For the new spin a garment can put on your life. For the place that item can transport you to. And generally, if I can think of at least three different occasions to wear it or three different ways to style it with things I already own, then I just know I’m going to be the next part of it’s story.

What do you get lost in?

xoxo
