She Wears Her Heart on Her Knees

She Wears Her Heart on Her Knees - The Dressed Aesthetic

There is one thing to be said for cold weather: it lets me bust out some of my favorite accessories and winter styling! I have quite the collection of tights and every year I completely forget about them until winter rolls around. And then it’s like Christmas all over again! These tights are a recent addition to The Collection – and they’ve definitely been put to good use these past few weeks!

This is also my maiden voyage with The Beret. I’ve never really been much of a hat person (owing to my abnormally large head. Trust me – you know those standard caps that say “Fits Most”? Yeah, it’s a struggle). But, Unique Vintage kindly sent me this beret in a parcel of Christmas goodies, and I was instantly smitten. So perfect for this snowcapped-mountains-magesty-type weather we’ve been experiencing. And although all of that glittery white stuff has melted, leaving only her chill behind, a good hat never goes amiss…

Today marks the end of our first week of the Spring semester. There’s been the normal amount of scrambling – students are trying to get on top of their class schedule, professors are dusting off their brains and trying to get on top of teaching, and everyone is wearing a groove in the sidewalk to the various coffee shops on campus (coffee is our lifeline). But, I’m definitely appreciating getting back to a normal routine and already can tell I have a great crop of students this term.

But, that doesn’t mean I’m not thrilled that it’s the weekend. As someone who is unable to hide her emotions and wears her heart on her sleeve (or her heart on her knees, as the case may be), it’s nearly impossible to hide my jubilation. There will definitely be twirling. There may be skipping.  Owing to the fact that this gal doesn’t have lectures to write, I may very likely have to pay a visit to some of my favorite vintage shops, take a stroll downtown, and simply see where the weekend takes me…

Anyone have big plans?

xoxo
