But Another Innocent Tale…

But Another Innocent Tale - The Dressed Aesthetic

As I’m sure you guys know by now, I love me some cute shoes. I have a particular penchant for heels, and as my size 9’s rarely can squeeze themselves Cinderella-stepsister style into true vintage shoes, I’m always on the lookout for vintage inspired brands. So, I may be a bit late to the party, but having recently discovered B.A.I.T Footwear in the last year, I can’t help but wonder where they’ve been all my vintage-loving life.

I‘ve seen B.A.I.T shoes pop up again and again on several of my favorite Instagrammers over the years. But, it wasn’t until I visited one of my very favorite Salem vintage shops Modern Millie that I got to try them on in person and find out how comfortable they were. I was instantly smitten with the bevy of stunning styles (including glitter shoes for grown ups!). I took home my first pair that day, and I must have fed them after midnight because my collection just keeps growing…

I found it so charming to learn that the B.A.I.T. in B.A.I.T. Footwear stands for But Another Innocent Tale, which instantly conjures up hidden secrets behind a sweet exterior. Mischief lurking in ruffles, late night rendezvous while you’re believed to be fast asleep in bed, and clandestine meetings with a mysterious stranger. Femininity with a bit of sass. Yeah, nothing to see but innocence here….

These mustard cuties made it to my wishlist immediately, and I think I lusted for about a day and a half before I finally just caved and ordered them. I knew they would be perfect for another recent acquisition in my life from Simply Vintage Co. It’s my first vintage piece by Juli Lynn Charlot, a highly covetable vintage designer who makes the most amazing designs, often with 3D appliqué. This one spoke to me, with the mix of colors and smattering of violets along her skirt. And what better than to meet a sheer blouse on a sunny day, where my smirk often belies my innocence…

So, off I skip to tackle yet another day. I have a To Do list a mile long. I suppose it helps if you’re walking that mile in some seriously cute footwear….
