Do you ever have items in your wardrobe that you completely forget about? That you tuck in a drawer, all excited to wear, and then it gets pushed to the back of your mind, crowded by all of the lists and errands and work-related responsibilities? For whatever reason, that always happens to me and tights. I’ve done my best to organize my collection, imported them into Dressed for inspiration failure, and happily await a day with that telltale chill in the air. But, like water through my fingertips, the minute I close the lid to their secure spot in my wardrobe, their existence completely leaks out of my brain.
Enter these Pretty Polly appliquéd tights, that seriously get my heart all aflutter. I bought them several months ago and, true to form, promptly forgot I owned them. So, imagine my surprise and delight when, digging around for a belt, I spied these beauties, restless and waiting. And it was love at first sight all over again.
I love rediscovering things I forgot I owned! It’s like shopping without the guilt of the credit card receipt. The time spent organizing my closet lately has definitely been good for uncovering hidden depths to my wardrobe – I will seriously miss having the free time to go closet spelunking.
Sigh. So ends my last week of Christmas vacation – truth be told, I realize that I’ve had a longer break than most and am extremely grateful for that. Though it’s never easy to transition back into work mode, I am (sort of) looking forward to getting back to our normal routine and feeling like a productive member of society again. In the meantime, I’m going to embrace my last few days a freedom.
