{Review} Caffeination Nation: Vendula London Coffee Truck Grab Bag - The Dressed Aesthetic

I have and will forever be enamored with novelty bags. Although some people like their neutrals. Their satchels and holdalls. I sail right past those bags to the ones shaped like a piece of fruit or woodland creature. Which is why I squirm like an eager puppy every time Vendula London comes out with their latest range. If you haven’t heard of them before, Vendula is known for making amazing vegan-friendly novelty bags of all shapes and sizes.

My love of novelty bags is on par with my love of coffee. As a scientist, my life is pretty much fueled by coffee – from that first glorious latte made by my beloved each morning, to the second one I grab as I’m settling in to my emails, to the third that usually happens in the afternoon, right about the time food coma has kicked in and I need my second wind. In addition to the caffeine, it simply makes me happy. I love the ritual. The taste. The feeling of comfort from wrapping my hands around that warm mug.

So, when Vendula and I discussed reviewing their latest coffee bar range, I was naturally ecstatic. And of course I had to take her for a spin at one of my favorite local coffee shops, Bespoke. My two favorite things: coffee and novelty bags, together at last….

First I drink the coffee.
Then I do the things.

The Specs

I chose the coffee truck grab bag from the range – which has everything from pouches to an amazing bag shaped like a takeaway coffee cup! Like all of their products, Vendula bags are made from vegan leather (and even certified by the Vegetarian and Vegan British Society – a fact I learned recently!) and are incredibly high quality.

As a lover of box bags, I have to say Vendula makes my favorite – they always have a sturdy, well-made frame that doesn’t collapse in on itself. This is not just a bag that looks adorably box-shaped in the product shot (if you can guess, I’ve been burned in the past).

This bag measures 17cm height x 24cm width x 8.5cm length and is, in my opinion, the perfect size. It was roomy enough to fit my general necessities (wallet, lip gloss, mammoth cluster of keys, occasional scalpel or other science-related paraphernalia) without making me feel as though I was carrying the world around with me. Although I’m a fan of handbags that I can hook on my arm and go, this one can also be worn with the attached shoulder bag to go hands-free. It also had some handy pockets on the inside (one zippered) and those awesome little stud feet on the underside to keep the bag protected from messes that naturally live on coffee counters.

And of course, I need to squeal over the details for a minute. If this is your foray down the Vendula London rabbit hole, let me prepare you: they are known for their details. The 3D details. The embellishments. The individual hand-stitched elements that make you feel as if you’re carrying a work of art on your arm. This bag was everything I want in a coffee cart – with a hand stitched espresso machine, 3D flowers around the rim, and even a working door at the bag to reveal a sneaky barista…. If you couldn’t tell, I love it a latte.

The Facts & Figures

Needless to say, this bag almost satisfied my caffeination requirements for the day – and I got endless compliments. The Coffee Truck Grab Bag is available through the Vendula London website and retails for $117.24 USD and they ship worldwide.  And to make things even more exciting, Vendula is offering a coupon code to my readers! Use the code KARA2018 between now and 30 April 2018 to get 10% off your order (T&C’s: You will need to create and be logged in into your account before applying this code. This code is valid on full price items only and cannot be combined with any other offer.)

If a coffee bag isn’t your cup of tea (yeah – see what I did there?), Vendula has so many adorable bags at the moment. I’m also loving their Biscuit Shop and Prosecco bar, personally. Cause what goes better with coffee than a biscuit and a glass of champagne to wash it all down, right??? You’ve got to love a company that really doesn’t color inside the lines.

You can also keep up with Vendula London on Facebook, TwitterPinterest, and Instagram if you want to follow along and get sneak peaks of what’s coming next to their site. Every season I think they just can’t get any cuter – and yet they always manage to top themselves.

Seems like coffee o’clock to me….
